Russian billionaire Andrey Melnichenko’s 394 foot yacht, designed by Philippe Starck, is making waves in the bays of Baja California

Baccarat Meets Bomb-Proof Glass on the High Seas ...This boat is bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S. No seriously, this boat is one of the craziest things you’ll ever see. Owned by a mysterious Russian tycoon, Andrey Melnichenko, the “A” is a $300 million 394-foot mega-yacht featuring 23,600 square feet of living space—all tucked inside a sleek, submarine-like shell.
Even more impressive, this floating fortress flies across the water at nearly 30 miles an hour, thanks to twin 24,000 horsepower engines that burn through $500,000 worth of gas with every fill up. Designed by Philippe Starck, the interiors are described as “Manhattan-loft-meets-Vegas,” including an all-white master suite wrapped in bomb-proof glass, as well as a guest suite dubbed the “nookie room” with its white circular bed with padded walls and ceiling-mounted TV. Know what’s even crazier? Another Russian billionaire is working on a 540-foot mega-yacht named, naturally, Eclipse.
